Summer of HPC is a PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe) programme that offers summer placements at Cineca as well as the other PRACE HPC centres across Europe. Every year, up to 20 top applicants are selected to spend two months working on projects related to PRACE technical or industrial work, to produce a visualisation or video. Arnau Mirò: Viewing the Mediterranean Sea project
Abstract: ParaViewWeb is a very interesting tool for data visualization. This project explores the capabilities of generating 3D visualizations using ParaView web capabilities for off-line browsing of archived data. A custom web application as well as a number of ParaView plugins have been developed in order to explore OGSTM-BFM data sets.
Petr Stehlík: Web visualization of Energy load of an HPC system project
Abstract: Energy efficiency is one of the most timely problems in managing HPC facilities which can be addressed at different scale and perspective. Using Internet of Things technologies this project focuses on visualising data collected from the Galileo supercomputer in a web application.
Two prizes will be awarded during a ceremony to the participants who produce the best projects and best embody the outreach spirit of the programme. Please, take a look at Aranu's and Petr's videos on You Tube, and click thumb up, to give them a chance to win the prize!
