The main mission of the consortium is to create a model for the reviewing of the applications and the selection of the most challenging. The target is to produce a procedure suitable for the largest possible number of Research Infrastructures and Initiatives, to cover potentially the whole panorama of RIs. The procedure will be then presented and offered as a best practice to all HPC initiatives and centers, as well as to scientific communities that may take advantage from it. In details, HPCW main activities will be focused on:
- Analysis and assessment of the models, implemented in the involved HPC centers as well as in other RIs, of: access to the infrastructures reviewing of the applications selection of the most challenging and valuable research projects;
- Creation, on the basis of the results of such analysis, of a common model for reviewing and selection of researchers, to be proposed to the next generation of peta scale facilities in Europe and world-wide; - Validation of the model by the European e-Infrastructures community;
- Potential extension of the model to non-European centers and HPC and not-HPC related projects
