Certosa Virtual Museum: the Third Cloister

The Third Cloister of the Certosa in Bologna hosts an important gallery of neo-classical works of art painted on the tombs and monuments housed under its arches. The virtual reconstruction of the cloister recalls its appearance towards the second half of the nineteenth century. The digital artistic tombs are linked to a rich multimedia database about history and history of art proposing the biographies of the people buried there, usually belonging to the most prominent and active Bolognese families, and of the artists who worked on the tombs. In the database there are also several explanatory files on events and places connected to these people.
