PPI4HPC is one of the six finalists for European Innovation Procurement Awards (EUIPA) 2022, in the Procurement leadership category. Cineca is one of the partners of the consortium, financed by the European Commission, which aim is to design and implement effective roadmaps for providing HPC resources optimised to the needs of European scientists and engineers.

The EUIPA aim to recognise powerful cases of public and private buyers promoting innovation procurement practices across Europe. The Awards’ goal is to demonstrate how innovation procurement positively transforms the economy by not only creating new and sustainable markets, but also by tackling societal challenges such as climate change.

In 2022, EUIPA is featuring three categories:

  • Innovation procurement strategy;
  • Facing societal challenges;
  • Procurement leadership.

PPI4HPC's consortium, formed by “Forschungszentrum Julich GMBH” (Germany), Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (France), Barcelona Supercomputing national centre (Spain) and Grand équipement national de calcul intensif (France), will compete against the Norwegian Consortium.

The winners of each category will be announced at the EIC Summit on 8 December 2022.
