The National Geographic World Heritage Journeys is online

10 September 2018

The World Heritage Journeys is online: a platform that the European Commission, under the patronage of UNESCO, has developed to channel tourist flows from North America and China to the European sites included in the World Heritage List.

The platform, which will be presented on 13 September, was created by National Geographic, with the contribution of Solimar International. The list of destinations also included the Reggia di Caserta, the "Royal Journeys" together with the Castle of Versailles, the royal site of Aranjuez and its cultural landscape, the Castle of Sintra in Portugal, the Castle of Kromeriz in the Czech Republic, the Residence of Potsdam in Germany, the hunting reserve of the Danish royal family of North Sealand, the royal domain of Drottningholm in Sweden and the Botanical Garden of Kew in the United Kingdom.

Three other sections are included: "Ancient Journeys", "Romantic Journeys" and "Underground Journeys".

The project has been realized by Daniele Napolitano for the concept and the editorial staff and by Thomas Scalera for the digital technologies, with the collaboration of Cineca.
