The international conference EURITAS Summit 2021: Ensuring Digital Sovereignty of European Governments, which will be held on September 30 in Brussels, will address some of key issues of digital sovereignty in Europe – cloud strategies, open source solutions and cyber security. The conference will be opened by European Commissioner for Budget and Administration Mr. Johannes Hahn, with participation of a number of prominent representatives from the public sector of the member states and European institutions.
Cineca's Director General, David Vannozzi, will attend the Panel “Cloud Strategies”, with a presentation about Cineca's experience in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare.
Dr. Vannozzi is member of the Chief Executive Board (CEB) of Euritas, representing Assinter (Assinter, l’Associazione delle Società Pubbliche italiane per l’Innovazione Tecnologica).
Due to recent events, the possibility of having tools that provide rapid answers to problems related to emergencies has become increasingly important. Thinking in terms of real or near-time analyses and effectiveness is essential especially in Healthcare, where large amount of data are available and sometimes difficult to manage. In this context, the use of advanced technologies and computational resources for Big Data processing is critical in defining personalized pathways, to improve scientific
research and support process governance.
Cineca, with more than twenty years of experience in the development of IT systems to support Healthcare, is involved in several projects that use high performance computing, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence techniques to drive innovation and to support research and governance, with the aim of obtaining new knowledge. Recently, an agreement between Cineca and Ministry of Health has been signed to support Ministry in programs related to predictive modelling and to implement a platform (data lake) with integrated data in order to highlight target population and assess the impact of health intervention strategies.
