The Mediterranean Open Access Network (MedOANet) project was promoted by Cineca with the goal of identifying strategies , frameworks and policies for the open access in 6 countries placed in the Mediterranen area .
The MEDOANet project will enhance existing policies ,strategies and structures for Open Access and will contribute towards the implementation of new ones in the following Mediterranean countries : Greece, Italy , France , Spain, Portugal and Turkey .It will also promote national and regional coordination of policies , strategies and structures in these six countries and beyond .The project will : strengthen and coordinate current Open Access strategies ,structures and policies in each of the six countries , identify and map exisisting strategies , structures and policies of Open Access in the six countries ,engage key policy -makerse and stakeholders and produce guidelines for policy makers .During the project 's lifetime national task forces and workshops will be implemented in order to estabilish policies to be taken up and an European happening will allow the policy makers of the interested countries to coordinate the activities.
Objectives
The MedOANet 's final goal is the development of guidelines for policies devoted to open access presented in the project's ending Workshop .
Open Access Tracker
Particular relevance , among the relative activities ,is to be given to the Open Access Tracker platform (OA Tracker) developed by CASPUR,as a technological partner for MedOANet .The plaform is going to collect and let reportings about activities and fields concerning open access be consulted.
