Its hardware resources are the most powerful available in Italy. Users can find here a catalog of software programs for different jobs and disciplines, a powerful and efficent network for local and external connection and, last but not least, people with a wide range of expertise that can help you, both from the technological and scientific point of view.

The supercomputers IBM PLX-GPU and IBM SP6 are classified among the most powerful supercomputers in the world by the Top500 List. In the Jun2011 list, five italian systems are classified and four of them are hosted by Cineca, that take care of the hosting, system management, as well as code optimisation and parallelisation, with the aim of supporting the activity of public and private researchers in Italy.
